Submanifolds with conformal second fundamental form and isotropic immersions.

Abstract In this paper we point out some relationships between the isotropic immersions in spaces of constant sectional curvature and their submanifolds with conformal second fundamental forms. This two notions are essentially equivalent if the dimension of the first normal space si maximal. This analogy does not hold for more general isometric immersions. Furthermore, some significant examples of submanifolds with conformal second fundamental form are given.
